Looking across the green, undulating meadows of Warwickshire today it seems impossible that in the past it has been covered with deep seas, river deltas, swamps, shallow tropical seas and glaciers.
In the Jurassic Period some 200 million years ago, the exotic animals of that time could be found swimming in the sea or flying above it. Remains of Ichthyosaurus, Plesiosaurus, Hippotomuses and bears have been found in the Alveston area.
