The Romans arrived in Britain in 43AD, and moved swiftly to colonise the south east of the country.

They arrived in the Midlands by 47AD and set up camps including one at Tiddington which spanned the current Tiddington Road, extending from the NFU to Stratford golf club. The bends in the road at the entrance and exit of the camp can still be seen today. The camp was not thought to be military in nature.  Several finds have been made including a grain store, wells and graves.
